The Piqua Teen Leaders, and Leadership Development Piqua’s December 2016 Session

The Piqua Teen Leaders and Leadership Development Piqua’s December 2016 session focused on Non-profit organizations and their impact on local communities.

The PACC was thrilled to begin the day with Ruth Koon, who spoke about the many non-profit organizations that she has worked with, and she also shared her experiences being involved in the reconstruction of the Fort Piqua Plaza.

Cheryl Stiefel-Francis, Executive Director of the Miami Co Foundation, reviewed the responsibilities of being a Board Member for a non-profit organization. She was later joined by Dave Larson, and Diana Thompson, Director of the Miami County Visitors Bureau, for an interactive panel discussion.

In the afternoon, Lorna Swisher, Executive Director of Mainstreet Piqua, joined Cheryl Stiefel-Francis, for a presentation focused on becoming an active volunteer. They discussed the many opportunities available within the Miami County area and also the benefits of volunteerism.
