LDP February Session

The LDP February session had participants visiting “Hidden Gems” within the Piqua community. Piqua has many historic locations that The first stop was Forest Hill Cemetery & Arboretum. Jim Roth, Superintendent shared the history of Forest Hill Cemetery, the Mausoleum, Labyrinth & Christmas Box Angel. Upcoming events at the cemetery include an old fashion family picnic on June 10th between 4-7PM.

Many of Piqua’s local businesses are located within historic buildings throughout our community. The Decker Building originally began as a meat packing plant. It is now utilized by the Piqua City Schools Board of Education and three other local businesses, namely Tempo Wood. Dave Vosler, co-owner of Tempo Woods gave the LDP participants a tour of his wood products business located on the third floor of the Decker Building. Tempo Woods is known for its handcrafted custom-made wood products and it is one of three other businesses located within the Decker Building.
