The Miami County Safety Council January Meeting

Mariana Patton, Customized Training Coordinator at The Upper Valley Career Center Adult Division was guest speaker for the Miami County Safety Council’s January 9, meeting held at “A Learning Place”. Mariana’s presentation was on “Cold Weather Cautions” and Winter Weather Tips.

Mariana covered the cold weather topic including OSHA standards, employer responsibility just to name a few and how they are involved in the lower temperatures. This topic showed the importance on educating employers and employees. “Think it out, then go out” said Mariana. Knowing what tasks, you are going to be preforming, checking the forecast and having a plan before you go can prepare you and keep you safe during the frigid weather. This month’s meeting will be Thursday, Feb. 9, from 12:00 noon – 1:30pm with guest presenter Jeffrey J. Busch, Director of The Miami County Communication Center, on “9-1-1 At Your Service”. Members can RSVP on the Piqua Chamber’s Calendar of Events.
